Ty and I are so excited to announce that we have a baby on the way! Due August 4th, 2011!!!

I envy those girls that dont get sick a day in their pregnancy! For me... That hasn't been the case! Of course some days are better than others... but for the most part. Sick ALL DAY... EVERY DAY!

WE'RE BACK!!!

A LOT has happened since our last post! I cant believe I haven't updated this thing since last January!!! So here it goes...

In February we moved into our New home. We started building in November and moved in February 14th. It is in Riverton and we absolutely love it!!! Still decorating but I am sure that will never really end...

On March 1st I started a new position with American Family Insurance as an insurance agent. I pretty much lived in Phoenix, AZ for three months training! It was hard being away from home so much but it was also a great to experience another state. I was in Arizona during the most perfect time of year and was able to go to A LOT of spring training games and soak up the sun! Ty was able to come down for a few days and soak up some sun with me!

In June Ty and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary in Lake Tahoe! It was so nice to just get away for a week and relax just the two of us! My favorite day was when we went on a 21 mile bike ride and really saw some hidden sights of Tahoe. We also watched fireworks for the 4th of July on the beach!

In July we spent a week in Lake Powell / Wah-weep with family and friends. It was beautiful weather not 110 degrees like it usually is in July!

In August we took a 4 day for wheeling/camping trip in Tabiona with my parents. We did ALOT of riding!

The last week of September I went on a girls trip with my mom to New York! We saw 3 awesome Broadway shows, a yankees game, went to the Metropolitan museum, spent a day relaxing in central park, and shopped until we dropped!

Mexico!!!

Ty and I went to Mexico over Christmas with my family for TWO weeks! We had the time of our lives!!! We stayed in Cancun for a week and Playa Del Carmen for a week! I must say Playa is much more beautiful and somewhere we for sure want to go back to again!

MUCH NEEDED UPDATE!!!

Oh man! It has been such a long time since I have updated this thing! Well our lives have been hectic the last couple of months and are not going to slow down anytime soon either! Ty and I have rented our townhome and moved back in with my parents so we could buy another home... This was only supposed to really short and temporary! However, we were not able to find a home that we wanted to buy. So 1 month has now turned into 4 months! We have now decided to build a home in Riverton that will be finished in Feb!

I never realized how stressful building a home really is and how many things you really have to pick out! Things I have never even thought about having to choose before! One thing for sure... I never want to do this again. Good thing we dont plan on ever moving again after this is done!

I am sad to see summer go and winter come! Heck... we did not even get a glipse of fall!!! We had a great summer... Didn't get to do as much camping and boating as we hope for though!

The 2008-2009 dance year is coming to an end this week...so that means I will have some Saturdays to catch back up on housework instead of being at competitions all day and Ty wont have to spend Monday nights all alone for awhile!!! But for the most part I was really satisfied with this year of dance and want to thank all of my students at Local Motion for working so hard and making this year a success! Also, I have to thank Diane (studio director) for all her hard work throughout the year! I cant even imagine running a dance studio! It will be nice to have summer break... but I am excited to see what next year brings!

Cheesecake Factory

So we went to the Cheesecake factory with some friends last night... And to be honest we weren't that impressed. It was way to crowded to the point where we felt clasterphobic. There where eight of us that were supposed to sit together and instead we got split up and put on completly opisite ends of the resturant. After waiting for two hours....

Then to top it off... we got sat in the worst part of the resurant possible. It was a table right by the front door where everyone was waiting and right in the bar! There were people waiting to jump at the first available bar seat so we had people surrounding our table all night totally being inconsideriate to the fact that we were eating...

For as much as it cost our food was not that good either! The only good part about the whole experiance was the 30th anniversary cheesecake we got at the end! yummy!

I dont think we will be going back there anytime soon... at least not for anything but cheesecake...

Does anyone else not like the Cheesecake factory or did we just have a really bad experiance?

Tax Season!

So after a couple meetings with our tax guy we finally finished our taxes! whoo-hoo! I was totally dreeding tax season because I was sure we were going to have to pay tons because I have two 1099's! And last year I had to pay up the wazoo!

We get done and he tells us that we are getting money BACK! What? That has to be a mistake... right? Nope... because of Ty's amazing banking skills we were able to write off alot! Also, because we got to file jointly this year and it offset my self employeed income a bit!

Okay... so the bad news! We totally thought we were going to get the 2008 first time homebuyers credit of $7500 this year! WRONG! The bill did not go into effect until April 1st and we bought our home in Febuary!

St. George

Last weekend we headed down to St. George with my family. It was so warm and relaxing! The weather was 75 degrees both days!

Ty played in a golf tournament with my brother and my dad in Misquite at an amazing golf course called Falcon Ridge.

While the boys where out golfing. Me, my mom, and Kayla went and got a massage! It was amazing! After that we went on a 3 mile hike in snow canyon... We took Eska on the hike with us and by the end she was a red dog from all the red sand. She looked so funny!

That night we went bowling. We have actually never been bowling with my parents so it was alot of fun! My mom suprised me and actually is way good at bowling! I definatly did not get that gene from her! I am the WORST at bowling!

The next day me and Ty played tennis, went golfing, and relaxed. Then headed home around five. Because of the warm weather Eska started to shed her winter coat! So by the time we got home the car was covered in white puppy hair! Good thing her hair is easy to vacum up!

It was a short vacation but totally needed!

VALENTINES DAY!

This year Ty totally spoiled me! We started off with breakfast at IHOP then right when we got home Ty had flowers, a singing bear and chocolate covered strawberries delievered to me! We then went to Tsunami for dinner and headed to see "He's just not that into you" which Ty never would have gone to see with me if it hadn't been V-day.

Then Ty had and extra special gift for me that came in the mail a day late. It is a gorgeous titanium ring with "Jess & Ty 6-30-2008" engraved in it. I love it!

Ty I just want you to know that I love you with all my heart! This has been the best seven months of my life since we have been married! Love you Babe!

NEW ORLEANS

We just back from "New Orleans" and the "Sugar Bowl"!!! It was an amazing experiance going to both! The game was amazing and so much fun! The Alabama fans were really nice before and after the game; which we didnt expect. Some of them were pretty cocky thinking that the Utes didn't have a chance or saying "where is utah?" Or "whats a ute"... One thing is for sure! they know who the Utah Utes are NOW!!!

The night before the game was crazy! We went to the famous"Bourbon Street" where the streets were lined with U of U and Alabama fans. One side of the street was U of U and the other Alabama. The fans would stand on the balconies yelling back and forth at each other and toss mardi gras beads at people on the street. It was a blast!

The Game was a riot! We sat on the 19th row so we were really close to the field! The best part about it was that we were outnumbered 10 to 1 by Alabama fans and we were still ten times louder! Even before the game started! The Utes started out with a big bang scoring three touch downs in the first 10 min! By that point mine and tys voice was already gone! By the end of the third quarter the Alabama fans had started to clear out and by the middle of the fourth quarter they were completly gone! After the game we had alot of Alabama fans that said Utah has the craziest fans they have ever seen!

New Orleans Cemetary

Because New Orleans is below sea level all the graves are above ground. Because of disease the coffins can only be opened every 366 days.

Lower 9th ward was destroyed by the hurrican. It was sad to see. On the homes spray painted was the date it was checked and how many people were found dead in the home.

The Garden District homes. The biggest most beautiful homes I have ever seen. Alot of movies are filmed in the garden district and it was fun to walk through and be able to see the home that they were filmed in. This home is where they filmed "The Curious cas of Benjamin Button"

THE SUGAR BOWL

So its official we are going to New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl. Ty and I are so excited! Neither of us have ever been to New Orleans so we are excited to go see the place but we mostly just cant wait for the game against Alabama.

We are going with my parents and my little brother and all of my parents friends. So we should have a pretty good sized cheering section! But compared to Alabamas fan section it is going to be so small. Because Alabama is only a hop, skip and a jump away. Alot closer than we are!

We have to leave new years day at 4;00 a.m. so I guess that means we either have to stay up all new years eve night and not go to bed at all...Or just go to bed early! Probably option #1!

THANKSGIVING WEEKEND

So this was our first Thanksgiving together!!! It was a normal Thanksgiving for me; but wow was it different for Ty!

We spent Thanksgiving with my dads side of the family in the little podunk town of McDermit, Nevada. Population of 300! However, we have a huge family that all came so our Thanksgiving consisted of 40 people where Ty is used to having Thanksgiving with maybe 10 people. To make it even more different for him we had our feast at the "Say When" casino that my grandparents own! We had dinner, then played these silly little games that my grandma invented and then did some line and swing dancing! Then we went down a gambled a little bit where we lost about $20 dollars on the "Wheel of Fortune." But my mom being the luckiest person i know but in 25 cents and won $150 dollars!

There were so many people staying at my grandparents house that you could not walk without stepping on someone! Ty and I were lucky and both got a bed though!

On Friday Ty and the guys went out Cyote hunting for the day so me, my parents and Kayla my brothers girlfriend took a 3 mile walk into town! Of course, my dad had to then take Kayla on the tour of the old town to show her where he grew up and how different it is than city life! After that we went to Brunch with a few locals and I heard some crazy stories about my dad that make me feel alot less sorry about the hell I put him through! haha

After the guys got home we started our traditional tournament of Pinocle. It is the funnest card game out there! It requires alot of thinking and the ability to count cards. It took Ty awhile to catch on but once he did he was hooked! After that the rest of the weekend consisted of eating left over Thanksgiving dinner, and playing pinocle in our free time.

Friday night we went out with all the cousins and played good ol' kick the can! Not the best idea to play when it is that dark! Ty fell in a ditch and cut open both hands and his left knee. It is now Tuesday and his knee is still bleeding! Collin lost a tooth and my cousins Tyler, Barry, and Brandon all fell and scrapped themselves up a bit too! After that we went in and played poker dealers choice until about two in the morning. And walked away with about $20 dollars which made up for the money we lost at wheel of fortune!

Saturday we played pinocle all day long and then got all 40 people together that night and played scatagories. It was a blast!!! Then we took the 8 hour drive back home on Sunday!

Ty is a pretty quite guy and the Wilkinson family is loud and are always out to embarress the new guy! I felt kinda bad for him! But he fit in just great after awhile!

GO UTES, GO UTES, GO UTES!!!!

So the utes are now "10-0" now! whoo-hoo!!! They have two more games left which they should have both of those games in the bag EASY! (even BYU should be a breeze for them this year!)

So the reason for this blog.... Ty and I have decided that if the Utes (which they will) so when the Utes make it to the BCS Fiesta bowl we are going to go! And we want to get a big group of friends to go with us too! We will carpool down to Arizona and make a vacation out of it!

We want to start putting this together so let me know soon if you are interested in going with us! It will be a blast!!!!

Halloween!

Halloween is our favorite holiday! Not only because we both LOVE to dress up but because that is the day that we met! So it was our one year of dating celebration in costumes! How perfect!

It took us forever to decide what we were going to dress up as! Then we finally decided on being pirates. We found me the cutest costume at a costume store but all the guy pirate costumes were either really really expensive or really ugly! So he made his own and it looked better than the ones we would have bought and cost ALOT less! Thats what I like!

On Halloween night we went to Todd And Kortneys house! All of our friends came and they looked so dang cute! I feel bad for Todd and Kort though because a party like that can really take a tole on your house! They had a few broken chairs (which kort wasn't too mad because she gets her new table) and some stains in the carpet.

HOUSE HUNTING

EXCITING NEWS! We are on the hunt for a new home. We bought the one we are in now last Feb. when we decided to tie the knot! It has been very good for us and still is. However, after much thought and delibriation we have decided to go bigger. Reason is because right now we can get an amazing deal on a much bigger home with about the same payments as we are making right now. If we wait until we need to expand we might not be able to get into something as nice or as big or our payments could skyrocket! so now is the time...

So you might be asking..."what are you going to do with your current home?" We are going to rent it out! That is the other great part! Right now rents in Utah are at the highest they have ever been because so many people cannot qualify for loans! So we will actually be making money on our home!

We have been looking in Herriman, Riverton, Lehi, Draper, and South Jordan. We have narrowed it down to just a few but I think we will end up in the South Jordan area. I am so excited! Here are a few of the homes that we are looking at!

HUNTING SEASON IS OVER :(

Hunting season is official over for the Jeffers family... We started out with the bow hunt in August and ended with the rifel hunt last weekend. This was just not Ty's year either.

On the bow hunt we literally didn't see a thing! At first we thought there was no deer out because of the full moon the night before but as the hunt went on and we saw nothing but doe's and came to the conclussion that the bucks knew it was hunting season and were staying as far away as they could. (Or just that we had a bad hunt, but we like to think it was the deer's fault and not ours... hehe)

Next, the elk/rifel hunt was an experiance. It rained, hailed, and snowed the entire time we were up there. It was so cold that there was no way i was going to go out hunting with Ty and his brother. So me and Carlee stayed in the trailer for 4 days straight playing cards, watching movies, and chit-chatting while the boys froze their butts off and didn't bring home anything. The first day out is the only day they saw a herd of elk. However, they did not draw any special tags this year so they could only shoot a spike. And it just so happened that spikes were the only thing that the herd did not consist of! The rest of the hunt they did not see another elk. But they did see that five point buck that we were looking for back on the bow hunt and they saw a huge moose that was so close it would have been a once in a lifetime shot!

After this experiance of hunting I have decided: One, that it is too cold for me to go out on the elk hunt and i will only participate in the bow/deer hunt. And two, you only see what you are not looking for when you are hunting! And finally my final conclusion: WE ARE GOING TO MONTANA TO HUNT NEXT YEAR! WHOO HOO!

*WHAT WAS THE FIRST THING YOU SAID TO YOUR HUBBY? "Why do you guys call me dress?" - I guess they started calling me dress because the first time they met me i was wearing a sun dress and there where like 3 other jessica's there so it was the easiest thing to call me.

*WHERE WAS YOUR FIRST DATE? The haunted forest in Lehi! We went with Newbold and whit, melissa and brandon, and Al and Jess.

*WHERE WAS YOUR FIRST KISS? On Newbolds couch! But Ty was living at Newbolds so i guess ty couch! I know super romantic...

*HOW LONG WERE YOU DATING BEFORE YOU GOT MARRIED? 9 months

*WHAT DID YOU NOTICE FIRST ABOUT EACH OTHER? I noticed his perfect smile, he noticed my huge eyes.

*HOW DID HE ASK YOU TO MARRY HIM? He asked me on Easter. He sent me on an Easter egg hunt to all of the places that were special to us and then the last stop was home where he made a huge dinner that was so romantic! that is where he asked me!
